The House of Representatives Committee on INEC says the commission has agreed to deploy additional machines and ad hoc staff following the request by the House to extend the deadline for voters’ registration by 60 days.

Chairman of the committee, Mrs Aishatu Duku, disclosed this while briefing the House on the outcome of their meeting with INEC during plenary.

Mrs. Duku stated that the electoral umpire has agreed to all the house requests, including the extension of voter registration.

She added that INEC has informed the committee that the registration days would now include weekends with additional hands to ensure more people were covered.
