Airlifting of intending pilgrims from Sokoto state is expected to commence today Sunday the nineteenth of June, from the Sultan Abubakar the third International Airport Sokoto state.

Addressing newsmen, the permanent Secretary of the Sokoto state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Shehu Muhammad Dange said all arrangements had been concluded to ensure the success of airlifting the two thousand four hundred and four intending pilgrims to the holy land of Saudi Arabia.

Our Correspondent in the state, Muhammad Nasir report that over four hundred and twenty, first batch of the intending pilgrims are ready at the Hajj Camp to be airlifted to the holy land.

Alh. Dande disclosed that each intending pilgrim has received his or her first and second dosage of covid 19 vaccination as a criteria for attending this year’s Hajj Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.

The permanent secretary said a Saudi Arabia based Airline was contracted for airlifting Sokoto state intending Pilgrims stressing that this is the third time the Airline was engaged for Sokoto state intending pilgrims.

He added that police and civil defense were deployed to ensure security during the exercise.
