Mr. Kola Abiola, son of the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 presidential election, late Alhaji Mashood Abiola has been issued a certificate of return to contest the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP.

Mr. Abiola at the occasion in Abuja advised political office holders to run an inclusive government to ensure Nigerians enjoy the dividend of democracy and overcome various challenges facing the country.

Abiola, who stressed the need for Nigerians to vote only for candidates with the nation’s interest at heart, emphasized that Nigeria needed credible and visionary leaders who would deliver on their campaign promises and redeem the country from electoral corruption.

In an address, the National Chairman of the Party Mallam Falalu Bello said there was the need for citizens to join hands with relevant stakeholders in the fight against insecurity and corrupt practices in the country.

Mallam Falalu urged politicians to exhibit humility as they run their campaigns to ensure Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy. 

One of the governorship candidates, a former controller programme Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Enugu Mr. Christopher Agu called on political office holders to yield to the positive advice that could bring positive change in governance. 

Twenty-two candidates also received the certificate of return for the governorship election cut across the country’s six geopolitical zones.
