Jigawa State Chairman Council of Chiefs, Emir of Hadejia Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje

Council of Chiefs in Jigawa State says the collective effort is a major solution to addressing the challenges of Girl-Child Education in Jigawa and the entire Northern States of Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Council and Emir of Hadejia, Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje stated this when a team of the Education Partners ECP-PAL paid him an advocacy visit at his palace in the Hadejia Local Government Area.

According to him, despite the significance of Girls’ Child Education for social and economic development, some challenges surrounding the process resulted in its failure in Jigawa and the North.

He called on the public particularly the parents, government, media and other stakeholders to contribute their quota and embark on public enlightenment to dispel the misconception.

“We must come back to our senses, tell ourselves and authorities concerned the truth, if we want this country to progress we must accord deserving priority to education,”

Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje, therefore, commended the team on their move to address Girl’s Child Education challenges in jigawa state.

In a remark, the team leader of the partners, Comrade Danjuma Yakubu said, they were in the palace to seek the emir’s support in promoting Girls’ Child Education in Jigawa state.
