Naval Officer’s Wives Association, NOWA, has commenced foundation stone construction of 15 billion naira 200 bed capacity Green-Smart hospital in Abuja.

The Hospital according to the National President of NOWA Mrs Nana Aisha Gambo will be the first of it’s kind in Nigeria.

She said the project which is the biggest since inception of NOWA was a direct intervention in support of Navy operations.

The Minister of FCT Muhammad Musa Bello represented by the Mandate secretary FCT health and human services Abubakar Tafida said the project would provide succour to women and children in the city.

The wife of the President Mrs Aisha Buhari represented by wife of the Vice president Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo commended NOWA for the initiative.

She said the project when completed would help cater for the health care needs of women and children in Nigeria adding that the statistics on health care needs particularly as it relates to women and children has revealed a need for urgent intervention.

Mrs Osinbajo said Federal Government would continue to intervene to ensure quality health delivery which it has demonstrated with the revitalization of primary health center in the country.

The project is expected to be completed and ready for use before the second quarter of next year.
