IGP Usman Alkali Baba

The Inspector General of Police , IGP Usman Alkali Baba has presented cheques worth over thirty Million naira to the next of kins of Eight deceased Police Officers who died while in active service.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State CP Ayuba Elkhana said the presentation of the cheques was part of the IGP’s ongoing welfare scheme to the families of deceased Police officers.

CP Elkhana also appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the gesture while describing it as timely and would go a long way in alleviating suffering being faced by families of deceased Police officers.

He further assured the IGP that, Officers and men of the Command would continue to put in their best to ensure more commitment and hard work in the discharge of their duty for sustainable peace, security and safety of Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Commissioner, therefore, charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that, in the last ten months alone, the Command had received nine times similar cheques from the IGP and presented the same to the beneficiaries.

Radio Nigeria reports that one of the benefiting families, Fatima Murtala Baffa, who spoke on behalf of others thanked the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
