President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Eagle Square, the venue of the All Progressive Congress, APC Special Convention and presidential primary in Abuja.

The arrival of the President signaled the kick-off of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The President was ushered into the arena with a resounding ensemble by the Guards Brigade, after which the exercise commenced in full bloom.

On hand to welcome President Buhari were the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), as well as other leaders of the party, it said.

Kick-Off

After the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari, the 2022 APC Special Convention has officially opened with addresses by the Chairman Planning Committee, Imo State Governor and National Chairman of the Party, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu.

The President in a last minute consultation met with various chieftains and stakeholders within the party, including Governor Yahaya Bello

Similarly, President Buhari met with the 13 out of 14 APC northern governors under the leadership of Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong.

The northern governors also had agreed that the presidency should be zoned to the south, although the decision did not go down well with everyone.

At the time of filing this report, consultations were said to be ongoing behind the scene among various aspirants and leaders of the party.

The much anticipated Presidential Primary of the Ruling All Progressive Congress, APC,  is underway at the Eagles Square, in Abuja.
