Group Praises Peaceful Conduct Of APC Gov’ship Primary Election In Jigawa

A pro-democracy group, Progressive Network For Democracy PND, has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressive Congress APC gubernatorial primary election in Jigawa state.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Dutse by the National Secretary, Comrade Sale Birniwa.

The statement describes the successful conduct of the primary election as a sign of democratic development in the state and also how people and political actors respect the tenets of democracy.

The group also commends Governor Badaru for being neutral during the primary which provided enabling environment for aspirants to participate freely without fear of political intimidation, equally getting a chance to test their popularity.

They also praise Governor Badaru as a champion of democracy, peace and good governance.

However, the statement says the primary election which produced Mallam Umar Namadi as the APC gubernatorial flag bearer is one of the most credible in the history of Jigawa state politics.

“As an independent group, we have assessed the track record of the Deputy Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi (APC gubernatorial candidate) and found worthy of a man of integrity, peace-loving, democrat and progressive “

The group, therefore, calls on the people of the state to vote for only people of integrity, tested and trusted towards progress in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
