A non governmental organization advocating for the positive use of social media and modern technology in collaboration with other agencies and corporate organizations has charged parents and caregivers to ensure proper guidance and counseling of their children on the proper use of social media.

The founder of the SmartClicks Suliyat Idris gave the charge during a one
Day campaign organized for parents and caregivers on how to guide and counsel their children on the use of social media.

She said social media is being abused by young people at an alarming, hence the need for parents and shareholders to come together and fine tune modalities of addressing the trend .

” we’ve carried series of interactions with pupils and students of secondary schools, and we’ve guided them on how to make positive use of the social media”

Suluyat Adeleye appealed to parents and guardians to always listen to the problems and worries of their younger ones, so that they would guide them in the right direction and protect them from falling into the hands of bad elements in the society.

In a remark, a veteran journalist Abdullateef Abubakar Jos said the sensitization workshop was very timely.

He urged parents and guardians to be vigilant about how their children relate to social media and modern technology.

Abdullateef Abubakar Jos urged the participants of the training to make maximum utilization of the training and ensure that they step down the experience they gathered to the members of their community.

The sensitization workshop was attended by parents, guardians, and stakeholders.
