The Governorship and state house of assembly primarie of the All Progressive Congress, holds today through out Zamfara state.
The Governorship primary is holding at Sardauna memorial stadium in Gusau the state capital, while the state assembly primaries will hold in the various constituencies.
Speaking on the commencement of the exercise, the state Deputy Governor Sen Hassan Mohammed called on party supporters to be peaceful and orderly .
He expressed optimism that the party will sweep all elections in the state in view of the strength of the party.
Also speaking former Gov Abdulaziz Yari restated the commitment of the party leader’s resolve to ensure peaceful conduct of the exercise.
He said the party has performed creditably well and deserves to be given another chance by the electorates in the next general election.
Similarly former Gov Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi had commended the giant stride recorded by Gov Bello Mohammed MATAWALLE in the last three years and called on people of the state to rally round him for the development of the state.
Meanwhile a Frontline member of the party in the state who bought form to contest Governorship election Abdulmalik Gajam had announced his withdrawal from the race in the interest of peace and unity of the party.
With this development Gov Bello Mohammed MATAWALLE is now the sole contender of the Governorship election.
Our reporter Mujtaba Ramalan Bello observe that the exercise is on going peacefully and had in attendance all the bigwigs of the party in the state including a presidential aspirant from the state Ahmed sani Yerima amongst other.
