Mustapha Sule Lamido and former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Saminu Turaki

The Son of Former Jigawa State Governor Mustapha Sule Lamido has emerged gubernatorial flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Jigawa state for the forthcoming 2023 general election.

Mustapha Lamido was elected as PDP candidate during the party’s gubernatorial primary election held at Dutse stadium.

Announcing the result, the Chairman electoral panel, Mr Isah Ahmed said Mustapha Sule Lamido scored 829 votes out of the 832 votes casts while Alhaji Saleh Shehu scored not a single vote.

Isah Ahmed further explained that, three votes were invalid, 

He therefore declared Mustapha Sule Lamido as the winner of the primary election having scored the highest votes cast by the party delegates.

In an acceptance speech, Mustapha Sule Lamido accepts the nomination with humility, modesty and determination while describing the congress as historic.

He observed that majority of the PDP candidates in the state were younger than candidates in the previous election.

As we move to the next stage of campaign and elections, I asked you to trust me, work with me, campaign with me and vote for me so that we can make the state great again”

“I called on Jigawa state electorates to vote PDP candidates at all levels in the next coming general election” the PDP candidate added.

Mustapha Lamido appealed to politicians and the public to avoid politics of division and disunity saying that the interest of the party supersedes personal or sectional interest.
