Governor Badaru, Former FRCN/NTA DG And 6 Others Receive Awards

The General Manager NTA Dutse, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Birnin Kudu received an award on behalf of Makaman Ringim, Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state and the Former Director General NTA/FRCN, Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim, Makaman Ringim and 6 Jigawa state personalities received prestigious award by the state Correspondent’s Chapel.

Radio Nigeria reports that the event was organized by the Correspondent’s Chapel of the NUJ Jigawa state in honour of the chairman, Late Ahmed Abubakar held at Ahmadu Bello Hall, state secretariat Dutse.

Governor Badaru Abubakar was conferred with the award of champion of agricultural transformation in jigawa state.

Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim, the Makama of Ringim was also conferred with the award of icon of human capital development.

The former Permanent Secretary ministries of defence and works and housing, Dr. Babangida Hussaini was confirmed with the award as icon of infrastructural development for his giant strides in bringing developmental projects across the state in the area of health, water, road network, in addition to thousands of youths who secured employment with the federal ministry of works and housing during his tenure as permanent secretary.

Other awardees include Senator Danladi Sankara, member representing Mallam Madori/Kaugama federal constituency, Abubakar Makki Yalleman, Vice Chancellor, Federal University Dutse, Professor Abdulkareem Sabo Mohammed, Alhaji Farouk Adamu Aliyu and Director General NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi.

In his speech, Governor Badaru Abubakar who was represented by the state Deputy Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi commended the correspondent’s Chapel.

He prayed for the repose of Ahmed Abubakar to continue rest in perfect peace, describing the event as timely and first of its kind.

Also speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dr. Babangida Hussaini commended the efforts of Correspondent’s Chapel in remembering the contributions of their late colleague, Ahmed Abubakar whom he described as friendly, disciplined, intelligent and workholic.

Our Correspondent also reports that the DG NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi presented a paper titled “The role of media in promoting digital literacy in Nigeria”.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the colourful event include the state commissioner of information Alhaji Bala Ibrahim Mamser, members of the state house of assembly, heads of media organizations as well as representatives of NUJ President, Police commissioner, Comptroller Immigration, Commandant NSCDC and some top government officials.
