Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,  NSCDC  has deployed 950 personnel to the 27 local government areas to provide maximum security before, during and after the Eid-el-fitr celebration.

The State Commandant, Mustapha Talba disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in Dutse.

According to him, the deployment will cover prayer grounds, recreational centres, motor parks, malls, durbar routes among others.

He further explained that, mobile and stationed vehicular patrol would be maintained 24 hours to ensure maximum surveillance across the State.

Mustapha Talba said Anti-vandal operatives would be stationed at government buildings and installations, as well as various critical national assets and Infrastructural facilities across the state to intensify surveillance and provide security.

He pointed out that, the command in conjunction with other security operatives would embark on a joint operation and show force to forestall any form of a security breach.

Talba also cautioned those that intended to travel for the holidays not to board taxis outside designated motor parks as the command within the month recorded cases of passenger strangulations resulted in the death of a passenger, injury to others, and more than a million naira forcefully taken from the victims.

According to the Commandant, motor parks are built by the Government not only for revenue generation but to also provide safety and security for both passengers and the drivers.

He also urged members of the public to be security conscious, and enforce safety measures both at home and workplaces before leaving for the holidays.

“On behalf of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the State Commandant wishes the entire people of the State a happy and joyous Sallah celebrations”~ Mustapha Talba
