Educate Children Against Moral Decadence- Commissioner Urges Parents

Parents have been advised to work asidiously by educating their children and inculcating moral values to eradicate moral decadence among youths.

The Kano state commissioner for women affairs and social development, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar made the call during a Ramadan tafsir organized for women in Kano.

Dr. Zahra’u who doubles as an Islamic scholar decried over rising cases of under age children engaging in immoral acts on social media.

She explained that, parents have a vital role to play in educating their children to know the difference between right and wrong.

The commissioner maintained that, Allah (SWA) would ask parents to account on how they raised their children.

She pointed out that, most youths engage in societal vices using their handsets without their parents knowledge.

Dr. Zahra’u said, underage children were often misled through improper use of modern devices, Saying parents should avoid procuring phones and similar gadgets for young children.

The commissioner urged parents and guardians to be more vigilant and keep an eye on their children’s phones by taking necessary action when the need arise.

She prayed for peace and stability in the country and advised the Muslim ummah to dedicate themselves to prayers during the holy month of Ramadan to finding lasting solution to problems bedevilling the country.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the Ramadan tafsir witnessed large turn out of women from all walks of life where Dr. Zahra’u interprets the meaning of the glorious Quran and answer questions from those in attendance.
