NDE Trains Youths On Sustainable Agriculture In Kano

The National Directorate for Employment NDE has reaffirmed its determination in providing skills acquisition training to the teeming youths, aimed at providing more job opportunities in the country.

The Director-General of the Agency Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated this during the orientation and loan disbursement to beneficiaries held in Kano.

The Director-General, represented by the Director of rural employment promotion Dr. Micheal Mbata said the training was aimed at training youths on modern techniques of farming, geared towards producing more food for the Nation.

He said similar training and disbursement were taking place in all states of the federation.

” today one hundred youths would be trained on Agricultural empowerment scheme, sustainable agricultural development empowerment scheme among others, while 38 trained beneficiaries would be disbursed with the fund to start the mechanized farming”

Alhaji Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo urged the beneficiaries to make adequate utilization of the funds disbursed to them.

In his remark, the NDE Coordinator in kano Alhaji Idris Sani Yakasai said the objectives of the training were to address hunger and poverty.

He said under this scheme 100 youths would be trained in a sustainable agricultural development training scheme, while 38 trained participants would receive a loan of 100 thousand Naira each, for sustainable agricultural purposes.

“In the last 2 weeks, NDE kano disbursed 20,000 Naira to over two hundred beneficiaries under its Micro enterprise enhancement scheme.NDE is up and doing in creating employment opportunities”
