Bauchi Earmarks N780M For Secretariat Renovation

Bauchi State Executive Council has approved seven hundred and seventy nine point eight million naira for the renovation of Abubakar Umar Secretariat.

The state Head of Service, Alhaji Yahuza Adamu disclosed this while addressing journalists in the outcome of the Executive Council Meeting held at Government House Bauchi.

Alhaji Yahuza Adamu said that the renovation of the state Secretariat was long over due, hence the need to renovate as the present administration in the state was poised to reposition the state civil service.

He noted that phase one of the secretariat was constructed by the late Tatari Ali in 1983, phase-two by Adamu Mu’azu in 2022, while the phase three was done in 2007 by the Isa Yuguda’s Administration.

The Head of Service explained that the contract of the renovation of the Secretariat was divided into three that include reconstruction of the secretariat, comprehensive repairs of the road network, electricity and the maintenance of generators as well as fencing it parameters.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Power, Science and Technology, Maryam Garba Bagel, said that the council had approved the sum of N319 million for the rehabilitation of inter-town power connections for thirty seven communities across the state.

Maryam Garba Bagel also disclosed that another N195 million was given for the purchase of transformers and transformers accessories for 200 communities across the state

She noted that some of the communities were cut off for about a decade due windstorm while others were without electricity

The State Executive Council Meeting that lasted for several hours was chaired by the state governor Bala Muhammad
