Jigawa State Government says it has so far verified over 11 thousand pensioners in 26 out of the 27 local government areas of the state.

The Executive Secretary of the State Pension Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa disclosed this while monitoring the exercise in Dutse local government secretariat.

According to him, the board has so far verified 11,152 state, local government and local education authority pensioners in 26 local government areas in the state.

While commending the state local government chairmen and officials of the board for their support and cooperation during the exercise, Kamilu Aliyu said the exercise will be completed this week.

He pointed out that, the board had recorded tremendous success of the verification exercise.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa added that the verification exercise was conducted every three years, to ascertain the actual figures of the state, local government and local government education authority pensioners across the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the Chairman Governing board of the scheme, Alhaji Abdulaziz Abdulhamid also monitored the verification exercise in Dutse local government secretariat.

Some of the pensioners interviewed, commended the pension board for the hitch free exercise.
