The General Officer Commanding 8th Division Nigeria Army, Major General Uwen Bassey says the Armed forces is working on modalities aimed at ending security challenges in the north west zone.

The GOC disclosed this at a three day training organized for officers in the zone.

He said each form of insecurity has its own peculiar challenges which requires peculiar solutions to contend the situation.

Major General Uwen Bassey noted that the training was in line with the Chief of army staff vision of ensuring professional Nigerian army capable of accomplishing assigned mission within a joint security operatives in the defence of the country.

The GOC stressed that the training cadre was timely considering the nature of operations the armed forces and other security agencies are currently undergoing across the country.

He explained that each region has different sets of security challenges that must be confronted according to its peculiarity.

Major General Uwen Bassey maintained that the training was designed particularly for security personnel in the north west zone.

The GOC urged the participants to take keen interest during the training with a view to achieving the desired objective.

Participants were drawn from the army, air force, Police, DSS and other security agencies.
