Inter Agency Collaboration Pivotal To Successful Security Exercise – IGP

Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali has stressed the need for joint and multi-agency collaboration in low intensity conflict operations among law enforcement agencies and the military.

He made the call while declaring open, a three week training codenamed EXERCISE HASKE BIYU for senior course forty-four at the Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna State.

Represented by AIG Ali Aji Janga, the IGP noted that the dynamics of current security realities have necessitated regular deployments of security agents and stakeholders to carryout an array of operations which involve kinetic and non-kinetic approach to counter threats posed by irregular groups.

He maintained that EXERCISE HASKE BIYU would provide another platform for the exchange of ideas, thereby enhancing collaboration for the development of sustainable conflict resolution mechanisms.

IGP Usman Baba Alkali expressed the hope that the training would forge an enduring relationship and identify workable strategies towards improving the security of the country.

Earlier, Commandant Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji, AVM Olurotimi Tuwase explained that the exercise was designed to prepare defence, security, intelligence, the media and law enforcement agents for a joint and multi-agency response to security challenges.

He noted that the exercise is expected to expose participants to the peculiarities and challenges associated with the conduct of operations to combat internal security and low intensity conflict situations in a joint and multi-agency environment especially in the south-east region.

Participants were drawn from the para-military, the media among others.
