Kano state hisbah board has apprehended eight underage girls, suspected of drug abuse during a raid at four different locations within the state metropolis.
The commander general of the board,Sheikh Dr Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina explained that,most of those arrested were engaged in drug abuse and other illicit acts.
SHe noted that, earlier the agency had received complaints from good Samaritan’s regarding teenagers patronizing the joints.
Sheikh Ibn Sina maintained that, most of the girls apprehended claimed to have been sent on an errand by their parents.
The commander general charged parents and guardians to be more vigilant as drug abuse and other societal vices are on the rise in Kano.
Some of those arrested who spoke to Radio Nigeria pleaded for leniency and promised to be good ambassadors.
Radio Nigeria reports that last month, Kano state hisbah succeeded in arresting 78 young men and women suspected of using drugs during a birthday party at a popular eatery popularly known as white house in Nasarawa local government area.
