DG NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Drug Abuse

Corps members have been warned to disist from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices to guarantee their status of being leaders of tomorrow.

The Director General National Youth Service Corps NYSC Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim gave the warning at the swearing in ceremony of Batch A Stream II Corps Members deployed to Bauchi held at Wailo in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state.

Represented by the state co- dinator NYSC Alhaji Namadi Abubakar, Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim reminded the corps members of the dangers associated with drug abuse and other negative attitude in the society and advised them to shun from bad company.

He urged them to be focus and take full advantage of the service year towards becoming good citizens for others to emulates.

The DG urged Corps Members to avoid using social media to spread fake news instead of promoting national unity and development.

He noted with dismay how some youths deliberately use social medial to fuel hatred, communal and religious conflicts as well as other negative purposes.

Major General Suaibu Ibrahim reminded the corps members to take full advantage of the cardinal NYSC programmes to broader their knowledge and shared vision of a great and prosperous Nigeria.

He also charged them to be security concious, avoid unnecessary travels and report any suspicious thing to relevant security agencies for prompt action.

The state Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar represented by Justice Mohammad Sa’ad Sambuwal administered oath of allegiance to over one thousand seven hundred corps members registered at the camp.

Some of the Corps Members spoken to immediately after taken the oath of allegiance promised to be disciplined and obey the NYSC bye laws throughout their service year.
