A 40 year old man Aminu Dakatsalle lost his life at Chiromawa in Garun Malam local government area after a trailer collided with a petrol tanker and triggered an inferno.

Narrating the incident the public relations officer of Kano state fire service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said a petrol tanker conveying about 60,000 litres of PMS travelling from Zaria to Kano broke down on the road.

“Our formation recieved a rescue call from Kura fire service divisional officer Auwalu M. Sani,our fire fighting crew arrived at the scene at about 13:00”.

He pointed out that another vehicle, belonging to Julius Berger construction company collided with the petrol tanker which triggered a fire.

Saminu said the driver of Julius Berger truck got trapped in the vehicle and all efforts to save him proved abortive as he was engulfed by fire.

The public relations officer said, all the vehicles and victims were burnt beyond recognition, adding that the deceased has been handed over to Garun Malam police division officer, Maisoro Usman.
