The Senator representing Kebbi Central and former governor of the state, Senator Adamu Aleiro, says the role of religious leaders is not only to pray but to advise security agencies on how to confront the security challenges in the country.

Senator Aleiro, stated this on the occasion of the closing of a three day seminar for Ulamas and Imams of Juma’at mosques in the state organised by the State League of Ulamas and Imams.

According to him, overcoming whatever challenges in the country lies on dedication, devotion and commitment saying, what ever the sources committed to the provision of the security and people that are in charge shall ensure that, such resources are judiciously utilised for the purpose of protecting the community and the country”.

He expressed appreciation seeing the way Muslims ummer in the state irrespective of their sect come together to unite towards the upliftment of Islam.

“In the past, the ulamas used to show abuses within themselves but with this development, they are now united and become one indivisible entity with a view of promoting islam”. Stated he

Senator Aleiro commended the organisers and those supporting the seminar adding that, this is the only Nigeria and the state can be salvage.

The Chairman League of Ulamas and Imams, Malam Ibrahim Umar Bayawa, explains that, the Seminar with the theme, the role of ulamas and imams in security and national unity recorded successes this year compared with previous years.

He said, this year’s seminar brought almost all ulamas and imams of juma’at mosques in the state together to discuss on the security challenges in the state and the country with a view of finding solutions to the menace.
