Governance : Oxfam , EU Train CSOs On Policy Implementation

A non governmental organization Oxfam and Crudan, funded by the European Union (EU) have organised a three day capacity building training for civil society organization and community based organization in order to enhance their participation and engagement on policy influencing.

The program consultant, Kenneth Okoimene made this statement during the training session on policy influencing and civic engagement for various groups in Yola.


Mr. Kenneth Okoimene said, the training was organised in order to build capacity for civil society and community based organization towards influencing government policies in the state, that will have a positive impact on the majority of the people.


The consultant further explained that, the capacity building training was organised in order to enhance civic engagement and other critical stake holders that will have influence on public policies, so as to ensure the implementation of policies that will have a direct positive impact on the populace.


He also implored the various groups to discard their differences and pursue a common goal of influencing government policies for the betterment of the society.


The participants were tasked to participate actively in order to influence how government allocates resources in the state.


One of the participants, Usman Ahmed Dada expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the training.


He further explained that, the training was highly rich and educative, as they have learnt how to influence policies to their own advantage.
