Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) in Collaboration with Zamfara State Ministry for Women and Children Affairs has distributed Sanitary Pad, Roll-on Perfumes, Hands sanitiser and Facemasks to 100 Ladies in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara State in the Northwestern Part of Nigeria.

During the distribution which took place at the Women Center in Gusau, the Zamfara North Representative of the NYP, Nabila Tukur Ahmad who is the team leader said, the gesture was part of their activities marking the International Women’s Day to enable the young women develop a habit of using the sanitary Pad to avoid contracting any infection from unprotected rags as used by less privileged ladies.

Nabila noted that, the One Hundred ladies were carefully selected from Four Secondary Schools in Gusau to serve as a pilot.

According to her, the Youth Parliament is working round the clock to ensure that, youths receives the required attention as well as their welfare.

Nabila therefore expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the NYP, Dr. Azeezat Yishawu and the ministry for women affairs for their support to the project.

She said, the distribution which was part of their Project named “SAFEPAD PROJECT” will mitigate the challenges facing the young women during their menstrual Period.

Some of the Students who spoke to Radio Nigeria During the events expressed happiness for the gesture and called on other Organizations to emulate the Nigerian Youth Parliament.
