The task force committee constituted by the Jigawa Government for the smooth hand over of the Hadejia Wetlands National Park to the Federal Government has submitted its report.

Submitting the report to the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, the Chairman of the committee who is also the Permanent Secretary, Administration and Finance, office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri said the committee came up with recommendations that would ensure smooth handing over of the Park to the Wetland National Commission.

He thanked the State Government for finding them worthy for the assignment.

Receiving the report, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini thanked members of the committee for the job well done and assured them that he will forward the report to Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar for possible implentation of the recommendations.

He said already, the Federal Government has approved the upgrade of Hadejia Wetlands Game Reserve to a National Park under the National Park Service Act of 1991.

Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini commended Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia for showing interest and concern toward successful handover of the Park.

Radio Nigeria reports that, members of the committee were drawn from the Hadejia Emirate Council and Ministries of Environment and Justice, Police and DSS.

Others, are the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands who is also the State’s Surveyor General, Alhaji Abdullahi Hassan, as well as Chairmen of Kirikasamma, Guri and Auyo Local Government Councils.
