The National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has protested against the ongoing nationwide strike showing their annoyance over delay in students’ academics.
The students converged at Kofar Nassarawa bridge in Kano City to show their grievances over the strike.

The students who carried placards with different inscriptions calling on the federal government and ASUU to bring a lasting solution to the strike, were singing solidarity songs against the action by the Union and the government.

Speaking at the Ministry of Higher Education, the leader of the protest Yazid Tanko Mohammed said they were conducting the peaceful protest to convey their grievances over the strike, saying the strike was causing great setback on the educational sector.

“We are always at the receiving end whenever ASUU embarked on strike, we are calling on the federal government to expedite action in bringing an end to this lingering strike”

Responding, the Commissioner for Higher Education Dr . Mariya Bunkure represented by the permanent secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Dahiru Adda’u said the ministry would convey their message to governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for onward submission to president Muhammadu Buhari.

He appreciated the manner and the mode at which the student conducted themselves during the peaceful protest.
