Groundnut Processing Techniques: Over 80 Farmers Receive Training In Kwara

Over 80 Groundnut farmers and processors have been trained in the use of mordern technology to add value to their farm produce and increase their income to support the family.

Speaking at the 2-day workshop on promotion of Groundnut processing Technique for farmers and processors in North Central zone,organised by the federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,held in Ilorin,Kwara state, the Convener ,Hajiya Zainab Adamu Fika said the use of mechinery will make the job easier for the farmers.

According to her the adoption of the use of machine fabricated by federal government agric institutes will reduce cost and create jobs for the teaming youths.

Hajiya Zainab advised groundnut farmer and processors to embrace the idea to enable them succeed in their business.

In his address Kwara state Commisssioner for Agriculture and Rural Development,Gideon Yisa , Represented by the Managing Director Kwara state Agricultural Development Project,Alhaji Salami Tunde urged the farmers to make good use of the opportunity granted them by the federal government .

In his remark the Kwara state coordinator ,Federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development,Dr Aliyu Kabir, advised farmers to seek for knowledge on how best to do their job .

Earlier in his paper presentation tittled “An overview of Groundnut production in Nigeria” the Director of Engineering , National Centre forAgric Mechanisation,Dr .Ademiluyi Segun said the essence of the programme is to ensure that the farming of Groundnut is encouraged and brought back to life.
