Kwara state Muslim youths have asked the state government to pay a sum of N113, 388,000 million naira as compensation for the alleged killing of one Habeeb Idris during the recent hijab crisis in Ijagbo, Oyun local government area of the state.

The youths also rejected the N1million naira the state government offered the deceased’s family as compensation.

Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the chairman of Kwara Muslim Youths, Ustaz Abdurrazzaq Al- Amin, said the N113million naira compensation (diyyah) is the rightful sharia compensation as said in the Holy Qur’an.

He urged the state government to award adequate, reasonable and fair compensation to the 10 fatally injured Muslims during the Ijagbo hijab crisis.

Ustaz Al-Amin noted that the state government should take full responsibility for the hospital bills and incidental expenses of the injured .

The Muslims youths chairman
appealed to the state government to ensure full implementation of the judgements of the State High Court and Court of Appeal on the ownership of the schools and unhindered use of hijab in all government owned- schools.
