A fish farmer, said to be a retired Deputy Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, kidnapped last Thursday in Kwara state has been released by his abductors.

It would be recalled that the fish farmer was abducted on his farm along Obate village in Asa local government area.

According to a close source of the retired Customs officer, the kidnapped victim released on Monday night was said to be recuperating at a private hospital from the ordeal encountered during the period of his abduction.

Although, it is not clear how much was paid as ransom, the source said the abductors had initially demanded N10m which was later negotiated to N6m.

Confirming the release of the farmer ,the Kwara state Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),SP ,Okasanmi Ajayi , said he needed to make contacts before he could give details.
