KNHA Passes Public Debt Management Office Bill 2021 Into Law

Kano State House of Assembly has passed the amended Kano State Public Debt Management Office Bill 2021.

The approval was sequel to a letter recieved during today’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

According to the letter, the executive is seeking for the amendment of the bill through the insertion of a new section.

After recomittal of the bill to the committee of the whole house, the House unanimously adopted the bill and passed into law the amended Kano state public debt management office bill 2021.

The House had also adopted a report on the proposed Kano State Appropriations Bill 2022, by the Chairman House Standing Committee on Appropriations, Alhaji Abba Ibrahim Garko supported by the lawmakers.

Similarly, the House had committed the report from the joint house standing committee on Finance, Judiciary and local government on Kano state local government revenue administration consolidation and codification bill 2021, for scrutiny and analysis for further legislative action.

Presenting the report, Chairman house standing committee on local governments and chieftancy affairs, Alhaji Nasiru Abdullahi Dutsen Amare pointed out that the committee had recommended that the state government to enjoin all it’s MDAs to patronize all state owned media organizations to boost revenue generation.

Meanwhile, the House had adopted reports in respect of Kano metropolitan area transport authority (KAMATA) bill 2021 and Kano state water shed erosion and climate management agency bill 2021.

The chairmen of the committees, Alhaji Mudassir Ibrahim Zawaciki and Dr. Musa Ali Takai, argued that the adoption of the reports would expedite the development of the state in many aspects.
