The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has directed prospective members to produce evidence of vaccination before they are allowed into the camp for registration.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, made the announcement in a virtual nationwide address to the 2021 Batch “C” Stream Two corps members and its officials.

Brigadier General Ibrahim said the new directive would take effect from the next orientation camp in 2022.

He said the Corps took the step to guard against cases of the new COVID-19 variant omicron in the camps.

He maintained that the NYSC would adhere strictly to the protocols put in place to curb the spread of the virus.

The NYSC DG advised corps members to acquire skills that would make them self reliant and business owners, rather than resorting only to job-seeking after service.
