Niger state police command has foiled an attack by armed bandits and recovered motorcycles and firearms.

This followed an intelligence report that armed bandits on motorcycles were planning to attack Goto rishi village and Kafin koro both in Faikoro local government council government council of Niger state where the police laid an ambush.

This is contained in a statement statement signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna by Police Public Relations Officer Niger state command DSP Wasiu Abiodun.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun explained that the Police and Vigilante engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle where they escaped with some bullet wounds.

The bandits in their desperate efforts to escape abandoned one Ak 47 rifle with three live ammunition and two Honda motorcycles without registration number.

Efforts are ongoing to trail and arrest the fleeing hoodlums.
