Five Killed In UniIorin Auto Crash

At least five persons, including family of four, were reported killed in an auto accident that occurred inside the campus of the University of Ilorin late Monday evening.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the accident involved a family of four , a father, mother and their two kids, while the fifth person was said to be a student of the university.

The sad incident, which was confirmed by the university authority, reportedly happened along the university dam with some victims sustaining varying degrees of injury.

In a statement by the president and public relations officer of the university’s Students Union Government (SUG)
Taofik Opeyemi and
Olabode Opeyemi, said the incident happened as a result of over-speeding of a private car which hit a campus shuttle bus.

Confirming the incident the University of Ilorin management in a statement by the university’
Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, decribed the incident as unfortunate.

The statement urged all vehicle users to strictly abide by traffic rules and regulations, especially as they concern speed limits on campus.
