The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Alhaji Ahmed Idris Wase, has advocated for the support of Nigerian youths parliamentarians on peaceful coexistence in the country.

Alhaji Ahmed Idris made the appeal while receiving the Students Union Government (SUG), House of Parliament, University of Jos during a courtesy visit at his office in Abuja.

He assured them that the House would do everything possible within the parliamentary limit to ensure that lasting peace returns to Plateau State and the country in general.

The Deputy Speaker who emphasized the value of human lives appealed to youths to always embrace dialogue as a way of resolving conflicts in society.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the students throughout the trying time in the state and assured them that the house would do its best to improve their living conditions.

On their request for the House to provide budgetary provision for the parameter fence in the university, Alhaji Idris Wase, said although it came late as the House was winding up on the 2022 budget other areas would be explored to meet the demand.

Earlier, the Speaker University of Jos House of Parliament, Nanshin Prosper Lakwai, thanked the Deputy Speaker for the warmth reception demonstrated to the students.

He also appealed to the Deputy Speaker to come to the aid of the university by building a hostel accommodation to house many students in the university.
