The Nigerian Communication Commission has Reaffirmed it’s Determination in Protecting and Promoting the interest of Telecom Consumers ,aimed at improving the Telecom industry in Nigeria.

The Director Consumer affairs Bureau , NCC Mr Efosa Idehen Stated this during a sensitization initiative Organized by the Commission to protect Consumers from financial fraud on Telecom Platform, held in Kano.

He said One of the Critical mandate of NCC was the protection and Promotion of the interest of telecommunications consumers , hence the Commission would not relent in ensuring that the stated Goals were being Achieved.

The Director Noted that as the telecom industry evolves ,there were growing Concerns over rising trends of fraud perpetuated on Telecom Platforms ,saying that was the reason behind the massive sensitization campaign ,aimed at Addressing the challenge.

The telecom Sector was not spread in the raging Storm stoked by cyber fraudsters accross the country, Attackers were now targeting telecom networks with the intent of getting access to consumer information in Data Bank of service providers”

Mr Efosa Idehen maintained that the Commission was Collaborating with Critical Stakeholders like the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) , ICPC, and EFCC among others, with the aim of addressing the Challenge of E- Banking Fraudsters.

The sensitization campaign tagged “Shine your Eyes No Fall Mugu” was attended by telecom consumers and other stakeholders.
