The rescued victims

Zamfara State Police Command has rescued 24 Kidnapped victims in Shinkafi and Tsafe local government area.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana who disclosed this to journalists while parading the rescued victims said, the victims were rescued with the support of the State government and police Tactical Operatives deployed to different locations of the State.

The CP explained that, 4 of rescued victims were students of Government Day Secondary School Birnin Yaro in Shinkafi local government who were writing WAEC Examinations, one student of Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda and 8 others.

According to him, the victims who were rescued unconditionally, have been in the den of their abductors for sixty days, noting that, all rescued victims would undergo medical examination, debriefed and handover to the State government.

Similarly, CP Ayuba Elkana revealed that, Police Tactical Operatives deployed along Gusau-Tsafe – Funtua road have successfully rescued eleven passengers who were abducted by bandits while traveling in the night at about 11:30pm noting that, all the rescued victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.

He therefore warned the general public against travelling at night, saying the order of the state government restricting movement of passengers into the state at night is still in force.
