One person has been killed and sixty nine others abducted by gunmen at Zazzaga in Munya local government council of Niger state.

The incident has forced many family members to flee to the bush for fear of being attacked or killed by bandits.

They stormed Zazzaga in their large numbers and started shooting sporadically to scare villagers

The gunmen that whisked those victims away to an unknown destination are yet to establish any contact with family members of the abductees for ransom.

When contacted on telephone Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Mr Monday Bala Kuryas confirmed the attack and killing of one person by the gunmen.

He added that Niger state police command had deployed a team of policemen to Zazzaga in Munya local government council of Niger to restore order.
