Kano State Government has made adequate provision in the 2022 budget proposal for a successful implementation of free and compulsory education policy in the State.

The State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Sunusi Sa’idu Kiru, stated this while speaking to newsmen shortly after defending the ministry’s 2022 budget at the State House of Assembly.

Alhaji Sunusi Kiru, explained that the free and compulsory education policy introduced by the present administration in the State was part of strategies put in place to ensure assessibility to education by all school age children.

The Education Commissioner pointed out that the policy would demand a lot of money and resources to be able to cover millions of children especially at the grassroot to achieve the desired objectives.

He said, the State government had allocated high percentage of the 2022 budget to education sector including the ministry for higher education to ensure in the fight against illiteracy and unemployment in the society.

The Commissioner noted that the State House of Assembly had promised to assist the ministry through the 2022 budgetory allocation to enable the sector discharge its constitutional responsibilities effectively.

Similarly, the Chairman House Committee on Security, Alhaji Lawan Rabi’u said the state government had procured vehicles and motorcycles to vigilante groups across 44 local government areas of the state.

He explained that, Kano had been the most peaceful state in Northern part of the country due to the commitment and dedication of the present administration in the State in collaboration with security personnel, to ensure effective security of lives and property.

He charged the general public to complement government’s efforts by reporting any suspected person or group to relevant authorities for prompt action.
