House of Representatives has approved the sum of N1.39 billion naira as budget estimate of the National Commission for Nomadic Education in 2022 fiscal year.

Chairman House Committee on Basic Education and Services Prof Julius Ihonvbere, gave the approval after the Commission’s budget defence.

Mr Julius Ihonvbere, said the approved amount will include staff emolument and projects that concerns fencing of schools due to ravaging insecurity in northern part of the country.

The committee Chairman who described insecurity as major challenge to nomadic education, called on State Universal Basic Education Commission SUBEC to find ways of securing the schools.

Presenting the budget document, Executive Secretary of the Commission Prof. Bashir Usman, said over 759 million naira was earmarked for capital projects while 50 million naira was set aside for capacity development of the youths.

Prof Bashir Usman explained that priority in the capital projects include procurement of tools, rehabilitation of schools, installation of electricity transformers, mobilization of out of school children, procurement of Radio transmitters, and fencing of schools amon others.
