The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has convicted Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina and sentenced him to 24 years in the custodial facility for an offense bothering on Money laundering.

In a judgment by Justice Okon Abang, the court held that the EFCC had proven beyond reasonable doubt that Faisal Abdulrasheed -Maina, son of Abdulrasheed Maina, was guilty of the three-count- charge against him.

Faisal was sentenced to five years imprisonment for count one; 14 years for count two; and five years for count three.

But jail terms are to run concurrently, with effect from the day of the judgment.

Justice Abang also ordered the Federal Government to arrest Faisal Maina, anywhere he was found in Nigeria, or commence a lawful extradition process to bring him back to the country to serve his jail term if he was found outside the country.

The court also ordered that the Faisal Abdullahi Farm should return 58 million naira to the Federal Government.

Reacting to the judgment, the counsel to Faisal Maina, Mr. Anayo Adibe, said he was bothered about the whereabouts of his client.

Faisal Abdulrasheed – Maina was arrested by security operatives in 2020 before he jumped bail, and since then his whereabouts remained unknown.
