Strike: JOHESU Urges FG To Act Fast Before Expiration Of Ultimatum

The Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, and the Assembly of Healthcare Professionals Association have urged the Federal Government to act fast on the demands of the unions before the expiration of its 15-day ultimatum.

A statement by the Chairman of JOHESU, Comrade Biobelemoye Josiah reminds the Federal Government of its 15-day ultimatum issued on the 2nd of this month and expired on the 18th of this month before issuing a fresh 15-day ultimatum to give the Federal Government time to respond.

According to the statement, the National Executive Council, NEC of JOHESU, and Assembly of Healthcare Professionals notes the appeal by President Muhammadu Buhari to show understanding with his administration and pledged to pay the debt owed health workers.

It explains that on the basis of the appeal, the NEC unanimously adopted a motion and resolved to step down the previous notice of strike and give a fresh 15-day ultimatum which is due for expiration in few days.

The statement adds that the unions remain resolute to push for better welfare and conditions of service for members and charged the Federal Government to reciprocate the gesture in the interest of the Nigerian masses and industrial harmony in the health sector.
