The Kano state hisbah board says it has apprehended two vehicles loaded with 5,760 bottles of assorted beer and other intoxicants.

Commander general of the agency Sheikh Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina stated this while parading the vehicles to newsmen at hisbah headquarters Sharada, Kano.

He explained that the two vehicles loaded with intoxicants were apprehended along Madobi Kano road at about 4am, after tip off by good Samaritans.

He noted that the board would immediately commence investigation and take the necessary action.

In a similar development the Kano state hisbah board has also arrested over 100 young men and women during a raid at Abdullahi Bayero road and Zoo road.

Narrating the incident, the commander general pointed out that the youths including a 15 year old girl were arrested while smoking shisha mixed with indian hemp and using hard drugs at some eateries and recreational centers.

Sheikh Ibn Sina decried the rising cases of drug abuse among youths, adding that most of those arrested at the eateries where there without their parents knowledge.

Some of those arrested who spoke to Radio Nigeria pleaded for leniency and promised not to engage in such vices.

It would be recalled that few weeks ago, a shari’a court was established at the Kano state hisbah board to treat cases reported to the agency and eight other local government areas under the leadership of Barrister Ali Ibrahim Danzaki.
