The Kano state fire service has confirmed the death of a 5 year old boy Yusha’u Usman at Zangon Dinya village in Bagwai local government area.

The public relations officer of the agency Saminu Yusif Abdullahi made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in kano.

According to him, the Kano state fire service recieved a distress call from one Malam Muhammad Usman that a young boy had fell into a well while playing at Zangon Dinya in Bagwai local government area.

Saminu explained that a rescue team was quickly mobilized where they succeeded in retrieving the boy unconscious and later confirmed dead by health officials.

In a similar development the public relations officer pointed out that twenty people have also lost their lives due to different disasters while 102 were saved in the month of August 2021.

He maintained that, properties worth over five million naira were lost while over fourteen million naira worth of properties were saved during the month under review.

The public relations officer said the state fire service recieved 81 rescue calls,16 fire calls and 14 false alarms across the 27 fire stations in Kano.

He charged the general public to handle fire and electric appliances with care, abide by traffic rules and be more vigilant on young children to prevent them from local swimming and engaging in other harmful acts.
