The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved the award of about 80 billion Naira contract for the completion of the dualisation of the Odukpani-Itu-Ikot Ekpene road.

Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, who stated this, explained that the 26 kilometer stretch road contract, which is to be completed in 16 months, was in relation to the section from Oku Iboku Power Plant to Abak.

FEC also approved a Draft National Policy on Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria.

The memorandum, presented by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sa’adiya Umar, said the policy would provide a platform for relevant actors in humanitarian and development space to key in and contribute towards a common goal.

Similarly, FEC approved the award of contracts for the execution of critical works at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos, Nnamdi Azikuwe International Airport, Abuja, Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, and Katsina Airport.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, represented the Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika, at the briefing on the approval.

The total amount to be spent on the projects stands at over 9 billion Naira.
