Religious leaders in the country have been urged to refrain from inciting people against another.

Chairman of National Hijrah Committee, Kwara State’s chapter, Professor Badmas Yusuf made the call during the commemoration of the new Islamic calendar (1443AH) in Ilorin, Kwara State

Professor Yusuf called on Muslim and Christian religions leaders to come together and fashion out workable template as guiding codes for leaders to enable them pilot the nation’s affairs successfully.

He advised Kwara State government to ensure full enforcement of laws prohibiting the sale of human parts,as well as sale and consumption of alcohol in some parts of the state.

Professor Yusuf also urged the state government to put in place a monitoring and enforcement agency that would see to the implementation of the laws

In a remark, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq praised the Muslims for co- habiting peacefully with adherents of other faiths in the state.

In his address the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari emphasised the need for peaceful co- existence among the people of the state, irrespective of religion and ethnic affiliations.
