Over 700 Peoples Democratic Party PDP loyalists have dumped the party for the ruling APC in Gumel local government area of jigawa state.
Speaking shortly after receiving the decampees, the Council Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Rufa’i explained that the decampees would be treated as any member of the party.
Similarly, leader of the decampees, Comrade Hamisu Bekarya said the youths from PDP and other political parties decided to join the APC because of its relentless efforts towards the development of the country.
He noted that the youths dumped the PDP and SDP for the ruling party, sequel to its policies of availing chances to youths both at the local, state and national levels.
Radio Nigeria reports that the decampees were received by the chairman Gumel local government council, former deputy governor of the state and top party officials in a colourful event.
