The Northern Governors Forum has felicitated with the Muslim ummah as they mark this year’s Eid-el-ftr and called for more prayers for the unity of the country. Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong in a message said, although Nigeria is going through troubling times, hope must not be lost because hard times do not last forever.

The forum urged the Muslim Ummah to continue in the demonstration of faith and prayers offered during the Ramadan fast, saying that God did not make a mistake by creating Nigeria with all its diversities and will therefore not allow evil to prevail or destroy the country.

It noted that the current security situation demands more action from both the Government and citizens who must work together to do away with bad elements that are desperate to make Nigeria an unstable Nation.

The NGF also urged Nigerians, particularly political and religious leaders to avoid rhetoric that further inflames passions and divides the nation along religious and ethnic.
