College of Agricultural Produce Technology Gets New Acting Provost

The newly appointed Acting Provost of Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology Kano, Dr Halima Modupeore Alimi has vowed to deploy all necessary measure in moving the institution to greater height.

Dr Halima Modupeore Alimi stated this while briefing Journalists in Kano.

She said the new administration was working tirelessly in ensuring that the activities and image of the college helps the institution achieve its goals and objectives.

“now that we have taken over leadership of the college we will ensure that there is sanity among the staff and students,and also we’ll improve on staff development geared towards ensuring condusive working and learning environment”

The Acting Provost noted that the college was committed in ensuring that the host community benefitted from the college through various programmes that would be introduced by the college which would uplift the well being of the General populace.

Dr Halima Modupeore Alimi explained that the college runs National and Higher Diploma programmes and admits candidates from all parts of the country.

She appealed to the public especially people residing in Kano to utilize the opportunity of having the College in Kano.

“Our mandate is on post harvest science, that’s how to handle agric produce after harvesting and this includes storage, preservation,and processing among others, and this is the only school in the country that has this mandate”

It could be recalled that the governing board, provost and register of the College were relieved of their duties by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural development due to leadership crisis that bedevilled the development of the college.

Representatives of the staff and students of the college who spoke to Radio Nigeria applauded federal government decision and urged the new management to work diligently in achieving the set objectives.
