The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the training of 100 youths in Kwara state on sustainable agricultural production and business enhancement scheme to reduce unemployment rate in the country.

Speaking at a one-day orientation and commencement of skills impartation in Ilorin, Director General of the NDE Mallam Abubakar Fikpo, said the programme will enable the youth think out of the box and start their own enterprises.

Represented by Mrs Blessing Onwa, the Director General said the beneficiaries will be trained on animal and crop production as well as other agricultural schemes for three months.

Mallam Fikpo who noted that the youths will be posted to farms close to their areas for practical experience urged them to adhere strictly to all the guide lines of the training.

In a remark, Kwara Dtate Coordinator of the directorate Mr. Aba Timothy Omachoko assured the participants that security will be provided around their farm areas.
